Restaurant loyalty program: stamps per visit or points for what they spend
Rewardtree gives Australian restaurants a free digital loyalty card. Guests scan the QR on the table or at the counter and the card lands in their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in about 20 seconds: no app for them. Staff add stamps per visit, or points, with the free Rewardtree Merchant app.
Regulars are the whole business.
Stamp per visit or points per dollar: either way the card keeps your name on their phone between bookings.
This becomes your link: on your counter, in your bio, on Google.
The problem with the old way
You know your regulars by face, but not by name or number. Now you can see who keeps coming back.
Rewards that work for a restaurant
- Free main on your 10th visit
- Free dessert after 5 dinners
- $25 off when you reach 500 points
How loyalty works for a restaurant
Some guests come in every week for the same dish; others come for birthdays and big nights out, and one bill can be a coffee or a table of six. That is why a restaurant can pick stamps per visit or points for what the guest spends.
With stamps, a free main or dessert after 5 to 10 visits is easy to understand. With points, staff scan the card and type in what the guest spent, and the points are added from that.
Everything a restaurant needs, on the free plan
- A 20-second join at the counter: they scan your QR, verify their mobile, done. Your customers never need an app.
- Your card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, with your logo and colours, updated on their phone every time you stamp it.
- The free Rewardtree Merchant app for you and your staff. It keeps working if the internet drops.
- A member list you own: visit history, and a spreadsheet (CSV) download with each member’s consent status, on every plan.
- Ready-made posters: a counter tent card, stickers and a staff cheat-sheet, made for you at setup.
Questions restaurants ask us
How much does a restaurant loyalty program cost?#
On Rewardtree, A$0 forever: unlimited members, the free Merchant app, Apple and Google Wallet cards and ready-made posters are all on the free plan. Paid loyalty apps charge a monthly fee per location; Square Loyalty, for example, is A$49 to A$149 a month in Australia (Square's Australian page, checked 27 September 2026).
Do my customers need to download an app?#
No. They scan your counter QR, verify their mobile with one text, and your card lands in Apple or Google Wallet in about 20 seconds. The card updates on their phone every time you stamp it.
Stamps or points for a restaurant?#
Stamps are simplest: one per visit, and everyone understands "free dessert after 5 dinners". Points suit a menu where the bill varies a lot: staff scan the card, type in what the guest spent, and the points are added from that. Rewardtree runs one active program per business, so pick the one that fits.
Do I need a POS integration?#
No. Rewardtree works beside any till: staff scan the guest's card with the free Rewardtree Merchant app on a phone or tablet. Nothing plugs into your POS.
